Current Professional Engagements

In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Moorthy is a staff psychologist at the Misericordia Community Hospital and a group facilitator at the Alzheimer’s Society. She works with adults and seniors who have psychiatric, neurological, and medical health concerns. She provides neurocognitive assessment, psychotherapy, and consultation services for clients and their care-partners. Dr. Moorthy is also involved in research, supervision of psychology residents, and clinical ethics consultations.

Education and Professional Training

Dr. Moorthy completed her undergraduate education in Psychology at the University of Alberta. Following this, she earned a Masters and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan, and completed her predoctoral residency at the Edmonton Consortium Clinical Psychology Residency program. She has worked as a clinical psychologist in various health care settings both in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Dr. Moorthy is also a certified yoga instructor. She completed her 200 hours Hatha Yoga training at Yoga Within.

Dr. Moorthy attends regular continuing education and professional training courses to enhance her knowledge and skills in the practice of psychology and yoga. Among other programs, she has completed intensive workshops in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and mindfulness meditation with leading experts in these areas.

Professional Affiliations

Dr. Moorthy is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Canadian Psychological Association and International Neuropsychological Society.
