Yoga for Wellness

Date: Thursdays, November 7, 2024 – December 12, 2024

Location: Riverdale Community Hall (9231 – 100 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 0A4)

A 6-week gentle yoga session designed to enhance overall well-being through yoga postures, calming breathwork, and guided meditations.

Experience gentle postures, calming breathwork, and guided meditation. Sessions are thoughtfully designed to help you stretch and strengthen your body while easing your mind into a state of relaxation. Suitable for first-time yoga practitioners and anyone seeking a gentler approach to their practice.

No previous yoga experience is necessary.

Space is limited to 15 participants. Please register early.
Sessions can be reimbursed by extended care plans. Please check with your provider before registering. 

Instructor:
Thamarai Moorthy, PhD, RYT-YAA 300-level
Registered Psychologist and Certified Yoga Instructor

Essentials to Bring:
Yoga mat, a blanket or towel, water bottle.

Optional Props:
Yoga blocks, straps, and bolsters.

Additional Tips:

  • Please wear comfortable, breathable clothing. Non-slip socks can also provide extra grip for steady practice.
  • Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in.
  • Please inform the instructor of any injuries.

Yoga for Restful Sleep

Date: Sunday, October 20, 2024                     Time: 12:45 pm – 2:45 pm

Venue: Yoga Within (Roots on Whyte – #302, 8135 – 102 st NW, Edmonton)

Sleep is vital for maintaining optimal health and well-being throughout life. This session combines sleep and yoga science and is designed to provide evidence-based strategies for improving sleep quality. In addition to the latest findings in sleep research, you will be introduced to sleep journaling, sleep hygiene, asana (yoga postures), breathing, and relaxation practices known to release stress and induce sleep. You will also learn to track your unique sleep patterns, set sleep goals, and monitor progress during this three-week session.

In-studio session only. Limited to 8 registrants.
Sessions can be reimbursed by extended care plans. Please check with your provider before registering.

Workshops can be reimbursed fully or in part by extended health care plans. Clients are encouraged to find out the details about their plan (e.g., deductible, authorization for number of visits etc.) prior to registering.
